MOVE IT! A Dance Workshop
with MC Gala from Come Dance Stroud

Saturday 24 January 2026 | 10am–4pm
NEW LOCATION due to smaller size of group. (The venue is close to Trinity Rooms, (a 2-3 minute walk), which you will receive upon booking, any questions contact me: mc@mcgala.com)

If you feel the calling to move your body and be guided in your dance practice, come along to MOVE IT!

This is a free-form expressive dance workshop where you get to listen to and follow your body in your unique way. With guidance and holding, I'll provide a container for you to make art out of it all—to be held while life moves through you.

Come with whatever is alive in you that day. Whether gloriously alive or numbed out, heavy or bright, sticky or smooth, ecstatic or deeply grieving—we're going to focus on the physical movement practice, so all those states of being can do what they will. Our focus stays with the physical movement.

This focus is a fantastic practice for times when we get lost in our heads and stories. Let the body do the work and trust it. Moving on purpose has its magical purpose, which we'll experience together. May we let the healing in.

We'll spend the day dancing, sharing, connecting, eating, resting—and definitely moving our energy system, our body, our spirit, together.

Join us for a heartwarming Winter Solstice celebration — an evening of Kirtan, Dance, and Community Connection as we gather to honour the longest night and welcome the returning light.

NOURISH 1-Day Dance Workshop with MC GALA, Stroud, UK!

You’re invited to dedicate a day to freeform expressive dance exploration, rather than just a weekly class; on this special day, dive deeper than usual into our inner world and the ways we relate and find nourishment, through movement-based practice.

Together we’ll move what’s alive within us, learning from each other, reconnecting with ourselves and the earth, and finding the nourishment we need at this time to be the human we are called to be.

You are warmly invited to come with your baby and have the opportunity to move your body to groovy tunes that are slightly quieter to accommodate little one’s ears and perhaps tired mummies ones too. Don’t worry though, the music choice is for grown-ass humans who love to dance!

Guest facilitators such as Iona McNeil will be offering her passion for bringing us together in a safe, playful and connected way. This is going to be a lush combo.

May this be a time and space for you to honour your body, mind and soul, and at the same time still tend to your newborn or little one. Perhaps even introduce them to the sway of your hips and find each other's rhythms.

Extra info:

Dads, carers, nannies, grandparents or any grown-ups caring for babies are of course welcome. We assumed that it will be mostly mothers and their new borns who will attend due to the natural tendency for babies to want to be close to their mothers. Let's see how this project unfolds and we will endeavour to accommodate the community need. Thank you for your patience while we grow together.

Small children are welcome if they can play on the side, or by all means join in the dance! Do bring them along but please keep a close eye on them, as we won’t and we want everyone to be safe.

There is a sofa area for relaxing or for children to play.

There is also a little pocket park right next door which is nice in warmer weather if you need a moment of escape.

There are a few parking spots out front but parking in nearby streets is easy and free.
